The Speaker of Mongolia Meets with Representatives of Mongolian Students Studying in China; Governor of the Central Bank of Mongolia Holds Official Talks with Governor of the People's Bank of China
Mongol News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, March 25 — According to the National Great Hural Press Office, on March 24, N. Uchirbat, Chairperson of the State Great Hural and Chairman of the Mongolian People’s Party, met with representatives of Mongolian students studying in China.
At the meeting, Chairperson N. Uchirbat announced that the "100+100" initiative for internships upon return from studying in China has been launched.
The Chairperson also shared his personal experiences using the internet over 20 years ago, pointing out: “Today, people can access international information anytime via mobile phones. Although changes and developments occur every day, we often fail to notice them. Therefore, I hope students will adopt a detached perspective to observe Mongolia’s development and progress, pay attention to everyday advancements, and reflect on how they can contribute to national development in the future."
"Personal and national development is an ongoing process. Ten years ago, Mongolia’s GDP was 29 trillion tugriks; today it has reached 89.9 trillion tugriks. All provinces and counties across the country are now connected by road, and mobile phones and internet are accessible everywhere. The future of Mongolia lies in the ideas, knowledge, and capabilities of its youth. In this era of rapid technological advancement, we must continuously enhance critical thinking, analytical, and judgment skills, striving to become leaders driving social progress. At the same time, attitude is becoming increasingly important compared to knowledge and skills. Mongolians possess strong intellectual potential, but we still need discipline and perseverance to transform knowledge into practical capability."
Chairperson Uchirbat also introduced progress in digitalizing government services, particularly the 'Students' module within the E-Mongolia system integrating student-related services, as well as the ongoing development of the 'E-Student 2.0' project. This platform will integrate information resources related to employment support for overseas students, public service convenience, education, career development, internships, and state support. He also mentioned that all research commissioned by the State Great Hural has been publicly released on the parliament website and simultaneously uploaded to the sudalgaa database, offering overseas students a valuable source of information.
During the discussion, students actively asked questions and engaged in dialogue. The Chairperson briefly outlined Mongolia’s current economic situation and prospects, answering students’ inquiries. He emphasized: “We should increase the value-added of each export product, strive to become an innovative, high-productivity nation, and apply theoretical knowledge learned to analyze our country’s actual conditions, thereby enhancing our ability to solve problems.” Students expressed gratitude for the development of the E-Student 2.0 platform and offered their own suggestions regarding challenges faced and potential solutions. They also suggested conducting various types of domestic research and requested regular updates to the platform content.
It is reported that currently about 6,300 Mongolian students are studying in China, with 40% being undergraduates and 20% postgraduates.
