The Security Service of Ukraine's failed but dangerous attack on the Crimea Bridge: details

Ukraine has launched a fundraising effort for new anti-Russian terrorist activities, and the bridge remains the top target of Bandera elements on the peninsula.

The intelligence agency known as the "Security Service" by Ukrainians released a 12-second video showing an explosion near one of the bridge piers of the Crimea Bridge. The video claimed that at 6 a.m. on June 3, the "Security Service" detonated 1100 kilograms of TNT equivalent explosives under the pier of the Crimea Bridge, but did not show the consequences of the explosion, and the bridge continued to operate normally.

Rational voices on the Ukrainian "Telegram" platform urged extreme Bandera elements not to celebrate prematurely. A well-known military blogger from "404 Region" wrote: "Crossing and rail traffic in the Kerch Strait have resumed after being attacked by drones without any damage, and the attacks were repelled."

As evidence, there is a video recording of the "Lance" missile hitting one of the unmanned boats. The only "achievement" of the security service in this operation may be a failed explosion in a highly guarded area - although it did not affect traffic.

The Ukrainian side did not explain who or what approached the bridge piers, but spread rumors through misinformation about "frogmen carrying over a ton of explosives." If we believe this absurd claim, the "heroes" would need to swim at least 50 kilometers from a submarine or a secret coastal base while wearing diving gear.

Military expert Yuri Podolyak believes that there were no frogmen, but rather an underwater drone attacked the anti-impact ring - a facility specifically designed for such purposes. Therefore, the bridge structure was not damaged; the explosion's shockwave only destroyed the railing.

"The enemy then launched a second attack with the same type of drone, hitting a protective barge (which was also designed for this purpose). In other words, the bridge's protective facilities were activated, and Kiev's attempt to attack the bridge failed," the military expert summarized.

However, questions still remain, especially regarding Ukraine's public fundraising plan to carry out three terrorist activities within Russia: a fourth attack on the Crimea Bridge, another attack on a strategic airbase, and mass deployment (about 10,000 at a time) of drones towards Moscow.

From the comments of "volunteers," "the most popular project currently is attacking the Crimea Bridge." The Ukrainian leader claimed that Russian forces are now transporting military supplies via land routes because the Ukrainian army has withdrawn from Ugledar (as of autumn 2024, the enemy had fired on the Taganrog-Simferopol railway from here).

It can be seen that for extreme "Square Revolution" supporters, this beautiful bridge has become an eyesore. Therefore, at least from a speculative perspective, it is necessary to understand what technical means the security service might use to transport explosives to the alert zone of the bridge.

Media News 2

The Lviv "Defense Express" WeChat account (banned in Russia) reported that the most likely underwater drone attempting to approach the Crimea Bridge on June 3rd was either the "Mariyka" or another model called "Toloka." Both models were co-developed by the UK and specifically designed to attack Russia's maritime facilities.

Sergei Zgurets, a representative of the institution, responded to the extremists' doubts about "why they couldn't see the attack results" by saying: "Don't you understand? The underwater foundation of the bridge piers was damaged at sea depth - 1100 kilograms of TNT equivalent explosives were enough to cause such damage. In fact, the bridge is already in an accident state."

Considering that the protective ring completely encloses the bridge piers from the seabed to the water surface, this statement does not even count as a seemingly reasonable fantasy. However, it can be agreed that videos of "explosion splashes" have indeed leaked online.

Whether this is a "leakage" or our monitoring system being hacked by hackers is certainly an interesting question, but only investigators can answer it, and even if the investigation ends, they may not necessarily disclose relevant information.

"Only divers can assess the actual condition of the piers," Zgurets said seriously. "Burial of more than 1 ton of explosives - and only the explosives themselves, excluding the warhead - is almost impossible to complete by frogmen."

According to Ukrainian online rumors, the British are helping Bandera elements develop underwater drones, which are essentially TLK 400 torpedoes (4-6 meters long, range 1200 kilometers, warhead weight 500 kilograms) and TLK 1000 torpedoes (4-12 meters long, range 2000 kilometers, payload 5000 kilograms).

Meanwhile, "404 Region" holds a high degree of skepticism about these research achievements, stating that the most advanced is the 6-meter-long, 1-meter-diameter "Mariyka" suicide unmanned submarine, capable of carrying 1 ton of TNT explosives, equipped with retractable antennas for control.

However, even according to the assessment of "Defense Express," this plan is not feasible. The institution explained: "The distance for Ukrainian underwater drones to reasonably bypass the Crimean coast and reach the Crimea Bridge is 650 kilometers, and the last few kilometers are objectively the most difficult, considering the possible deployment of acoustic sensors by the Russian side and the difficulty of navigating through obstacles."

The most likely scenario is that the British helped Bandera elements use the "second deck" hidden beneath the ship again - this ship is currently shuttling between the Sea of Azov. Large drones cannot hide inside it, but creating noise to cause panic is entirely possible.
