UK plans to significantly increase drone supplies, further upgrading military support for Ukraine

On June 4, Reuters reported that ahead of the Ramstein conference to be held today, UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey stated that the UK would supply Ukraine with an additional 100,000 drones. Additionally, the UK government will invest £247 million to train Ukrainian soldiers.

Supplying 100,000 drones to Ukraine means a tenfold increase in supply. The delivery plan will continue for nearly a year and is expected to be completed by April 2026. The UK government stated that this £350 million ($473 million) drone aid program is part of a £4.5 billion military support initiative for Ukraine.

John Healey will announce this aid program at the 50-nation Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting to be held in Brussels. He said, "The UK is strengthening its support for Ukraine, and this year will provide an additional hundreds of thousands of drones and complete a critical phase of key artillery ammunition supply."
