Footage Reveals: Three Chinese Warships Surround Dutch Frigate, Fighters Armed with PL-10 Missiles Take Off, Dutch Helicopter Forced to Flee!
The Dutch Navy sent its frigate "Druijt" out in mid-April this year, heading straight for the Indo-Pacific region with a mission to deploy for five months. Before arriving, it made a few days' visit to Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
After leaving the Philippines, one would expect it to head east toward Hawaii to participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise. However, instead of taking the direct route, the warship turned around and took a wide detour, deliberately sailing to the vicinity of the Xisha Islands, engaging in acts of intrusion and provocation. In short, it came here with clear intent.
The video makes it crystal clear: The three Chinese warships were not merely observing from afar—they actively engaged in real operations. Ships 631 and 626 confronted the opposing frigate on the sea surface. Through close-range maneuvering and aggressive positioning, they effectively forced the foreign vessel out to sea—this is unmistakable in the footage: using heading control and firm posture to block the intruder’s path and drive it toward open waters. Meanwhile, Ship 553 focused primarily on the audacious Dutch helicopter operating in the air.
A continuous stream of English warnings was issued, their sound waves overpowering the noise of the helicopter's rotors. At the same time, fighter jets were already in position, armed with PL-10 air-to-air missiles, waiting. This represents a standard naval-air coordination operation: layered interception by surface vessels, while aircraft loomed above, ready to act. Even though the Dutch frigate weighs 6,000 tons, it had no advantage whatsoever surrounded by multiple Type 056A and 054A frigates.
As for the PL-10 air-to-air missile, deploying such weaponry into the sky leaves intentions utterly transparent. This missile boasts impressive performance: weighing 89 kilograms, measuring 3 meters in length, with a maximum range of up to 20 kilometers. More notably, it features “world-class” capabilities—an advanced multi-spectral infrared imaging seeker with extremely strong anti-jamming ability and large off-axis attack capability. In plain terms, this missile can be launched at a highly oblique angle by an aircraft and then lock onto a heat source target with precision. Against a NH-90 helicopter, it would be more than sufficient.
This escort action has gone beyond mere verbal warnings. For the first time, the official report mentioned “warning-level electronic interference”—a form of soft-kill tactic that does not destroy enemy equipment directly but disrupts radar, communications, and navigation systems. This sends a clear message: we have the capability to instantly blind your equipment—but without immediately escalating to armed conflict.
