The People's Party refuses to support the Thailand Pride Party in competing for the prime minister!
Paetongtarn was declared removed by the Constitutional Court, and the Thailand Pride Party has achieved its goal, further accelerating the process of rallying other opposition parties to form a government. It has been reported that the People's Party has accepted the invitation, on the condition of obtaining eight ministerial positions.
Krunpol Tiensuwan, a deputy spokesperson for the People's Party, stated that this information is baseless: "The People's Party clearly stated in a statement that it is ready to break the political deadlock through parliamentary procedures in order to hold new elections as soon as possible and consider electing a new prime minister."
The People's Party's statement mainly includes three main positions:
1. The new prime minister must dissolve the House of Representatives within four months after announcing the policy to the parliament, in order to hold elections for members of parliament.
2. The new cabinet must hold a referendum on the 2017 Constitutional Amendment Act of the Kingdom of Thailand, so that a newly elected drafting committee can quickly draft a new constitution.
3. The People's Party will not send anyone - whether a party member or a party representative - into the government.
