Self-directed street robbery, Japanese police arrest three Chinese nationals
According to Japan's TBS News on June 2: Three Chinese nationals were formally arrested today for allegedly robbing approximately 22 million yen (about 950,000 RMB) in a street robbery in Ginza, Tokyo, in March this year.
The suspects are Wang Ping (31 years old), residing in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Liu Huan (38 years old), residing in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture; and Mu Junliang (23 years old), residing in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo Metropolis.
A man in his twenties, who knew Liu Huan, contacted him expressing interest in selling a Rolex watch but unwilling to disclose personal information to the buyer shop. He thus entrusted Liu Huan to sell one watch at the store, while he himself waited nearby.
After Liu Huan sold the watch and received 22 million yen, he handed it over to the waiting victim. At that moment, the other two suspects, Wang Ping and Mu Junliang, seized the cash. The young man grabbed Wang Ping’s shoulder attempting to reclaim the bag, but was beaten by Wang Ping and Mu Junliang using electric shock devices and other tools.
This street robbery was orchestrated by the three suspects themselves.
Under police questioning, Wang Ping admitted the charges, but Liu Huan and Mu Junliang denied them.
