[Pakistan's Finance Minister Confirms Saudi Arabia Deposits Another $3 Billion]
On April 15, 2026, Washington time, Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, during a brief visit to Washington to attend meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, stated:
Saudi Arabia will deposit an additional $3 billion into Pakistan’s central bank. This funding will provide much-needed financial support for Pakistan. The existing $5 billion in Saudi deposits will no longer be subject to annual rollover arrangements but will instead have their term extended.
Earlier this month, Pakistan pledged to return the $2 billion previously deposited by the UAE into Pakistan’s central bank in 2019.
