Nvidia CEO says AI system weighing two tons is difficult to be smuggled into China
Foreign media: NVIDIA CEO said that the AI system weighing two tons is difficult to be smuggled into China.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently stated in an interview that there are no signs of his advanced AI chips being transferred to China. He emphasized that NVIDIA's flagship products are integrated systems priced at millions of dollars, with a large volume, usually containing up to 72 GPUs and 36 processors. The "Grace Blackwell" system weighs close to two tons, making it impossible to carry or smuggle easily.
Huang pointed out that the company's customers understand the rules and self-monitor, valuing their long-term cooperative relationship with NVIDIA. The Biden administration previously set AI chip export restrictions to prevent technology from spreading to China, but Trump recently announced the intention to cancel this policy.
Huang recently visited the Middle East with the US delegation to support easing export restrictions, allowing countries such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia to obtain more NVIDIA AI hardware. Despite Singapore still investigating related issues, Huang reiterated his opposition to trade restrictions.
