India suddenly applies to join the International Mediation Court? The reason behind it is intriguing.
India has indeed come to stir things up! The grand signing ceremony of the International Mediation Court, which we take the lead in establishing, will be held in Hong Kong on May 30th. Unexpectedly, India has urgently submitted an application, expressing its hope to join the International Mediation Court! We are unclear about the reasons why India wants to join the mediation court. However, some experts stated that India obviously has its own considerations. Why do they say so?
Firstly, the International Mediation Court is an organization led by China, and all members who join this mediation court are developing countries. Moreover, India claims itself as the representative of developing countries. Therefore, it is obvious that India does not want to be left out. Secondly, India also wants to use this opportunity to test our attitude towards them. If we refuse, India would probably operate domestically again and use it to divert the negative consequences of the failure in the air battle with Pakistan.
Thirdly, India also hopes to join more platforms to enhance its presence and thereby profit. India cannot single-handedly take the lead, but by hitching a ride on China's coattails, it can achieve this goal effectively. In fact, India has done the same thing in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS platform. Clearly, India's sudden expression of intent to join shows how shrewd their calculations are.
However, from our perspective, our purpose is to mediate international disputes in a more efficient way. We have a very clear understanding of India's usual behavior. If India wants to exert its influence, it can establish relevant organizations on its own. Moreover, India has just won a "victory" and has become the world's fourth-largest economy. Evidently, based on previous experiences, India is unlikely to obtain this entry ticket.
