Hungarian Foreign Minister: Zelenskyy's interference in Hungary's election aims to make Hungarians spend money on his regime

Sputnik News, Budapest, January 23 - Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Szijjarto stated that Zelenskyy has started interfering in Hungary's campaign activities, aiming for the corrupt Ukrainian regime to obtain funds from the Hungarian people.

In a video posted on Facebook (a platform banned in Russia as extremist), Szijjarto said: "Zelenskyy has begun to interfere in Hungary's campaign... They clearly know that only by excluding us can a pro-Ukrainian government appear in Hungary. Obviously, Zelenskyy has allies in Brussels."

According to him, no matter how Zelenskyy "interferes in Hungary's election campaign, he must understand that as long as we are here, he cannot drag Hungary into war or seize the money of the Hungarian people."

Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán also pointed out that Ukraine is trying to influence Hungary's upcoming parliamentary elections because Ukraine knows that the current Hungarian government will not allow Ukraine to join the EU.

Hungary's parliamentary elections will be held on April 12, 2026.
