Iran and China Foreign Ministers Reiterate Plans to Develop Relations After U.S. Tariffs

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Thursday during a call with China's Foreign Minister that Iran and China should develop relations and strengthen cooperation in the context of U.S. tariffs.

A message posted on the official "Telegram" channel of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said: "Araghchi pointed out that the United States is using economic means and trade tariffs to pressure developing countries such as Iran and China, highlighting the necessity of strengthening South-South cooperation to safeguard the national interests of developing countries."

Previously, Trump announced that all countries trading with Iran would be subject to a 25% tariff. In his words, any country that has commercial relations with Iran will have to pay a 25% tariff for all its commercial dealings with the United States.
