On August 20, South Korean media "Today's Finance" published an article stating that statistics show that in the first half of this year, both the production and sales of Chinese cars have exceeded 15 million units for the first time.

According to statistical data recently released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the production and sales of cars in China during the same period achieved double-digit growth.

In the first half of this year, the production of cars in China was 15.621 million units, and the sales were 15.653 million units.

Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 6.968 million units and 6.937 million units respectively, with a year-on-year growth of 41.4% and 40.3%. The proportion of new energy vehicles in new car sales reached 44.3%.

The "trade-in" policy has supported the growth of the automotive industry. In the first half of this year, the domestic car sales in China reached 12.57 million units, an increase of 11.7% compared to the previous year.

In June, the sales of passenger cars in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. In particular, in June, new energy vehicles accounted for more than half of the domestic passenger car sales.

Car exports are also growing steadily. From January to June this year, China exported 3.083 million cars. This is an increase of 10.4% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the export of new energy vehicles grew rapidly, reaching 1.06 million units, an increase of 75.2% year-on-year.
