The Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said on Thursday that he believes the US is likely trying to occupy Greenland, including through purchase.

Previously, after meeting with US Secretary of State Rubio and Vice President Vance at the White House, Rasmussen stated that he and Greenland's Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt were unable to change the US stance on the issue of Greenland.

"The US could very well try to do this. But Greenland will not accept it. According to the latest public opinion survey in Greenland, only 6% of the islanders want to become Americans," he said during an interview with Fox News.
