Denmark's Foreign Minister Calls on the US President to Respect Copenhagen's "Red Line" on Greenland Issue

TASS, Washington. After a meeting with US Secretary of State Rubio and Vice President Vance at the White House, Denmark's Foreign Minister Rasmussen called on President Trump to respect Copenhagen's "red line" on the Greenland issue.

Rasmussen said: "We have the longest diplomatic relationship with the United States, the longest among all our allies, lasting 225 years. We have a perfect framework for cooperation available. ... Obviously, there are differences. We agree that it is necessary to hold high-level negotiations to explore whether it is possible to respect Denmark's red lines and also take into account the concerns of the US President. This is exactly what we will start working on."

Rasmussen also pointed out that the US and Denmark still have principled differences on the Greenland issue.
