Reuters: Russia and India have agreed for the first time since the full-scale conflict erupted to resume Russian liquefied natural gas supplies.

Sources said that if India ultimately decides to sign the agreement—which could violate Western sanctions—the deal could be finalized within a few weeks.

The two sides reached a preliminary supply agreement during talks in New Delhi on March 19: Russian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin, while the Indian side was led by Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

During the same meeting, both countries also agreed to expand oil supplies to India: the volume could double compared to January, accounting for at least 40% of India's total oil imports within one month.
