Medvedev Comments on the Collapse of the Middle East Ceasefire

On April 8, Russian Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Medvedev pointed out that the parties involved in the Middle East ceasefire agreement ultimately broke the truce again, once more proving the "effectiveness" of force.

He made this comment in response to his earlier post expressing skepticism about the success of this ceasefire.

In a post on the social platform X, Medvedev wrote in English: "Alright, here it is: the Strait of Hormuz is closed again. Force works."

Earlier that day, Medvedev sarcastically noted that prospects for a ceasefire between the United States and Iran remained unclear, but Tehran had already been able to test its "nuclear weapons" in the form of the Strait of Hormuz. He added that the potential of the Strait of Hormuz is limitless.

Earlier that morning, Trump stated he had agreed to delay military strikes against Iran by another two weeks, explaining that the condition was full restoration of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
