On Friday, Iran's armed forces shot down 3 U.S. aircraft using a new air defense system.

Ibrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran's Central Command "Hatam-e-Ambiya," stated that Iran's armed forces shot down three U.S. aircraft and two helicopters on Friday using a newly developed air defense system.

The Iranian National Radio and Television (IRIB), citing the statement, said: "This day has become a 'black and humiliating Friday' for America and Zionist enemies. The brave Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force used a new air defense system to shoot down one of the most advanced U.S. fifth-generation F-35 fighters, three MQ-9 drones, and 'Hermes' strategic drones, as well as two stealth cruise missiles; the Revolutionary Guard Ground Air Defense Forces shot down an advanced A-10 attack aircraft and two 'Black Hawk' helicopters; meanwhile, the heroic air defense forces also shot down another advanced A-10 attack aircraft."

Zolfaghari stated that Iran employed its most advanced domestically developed air defense system in this operation. The central command spokesperson further declared that Iran would reclaim full control over its own airspace.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began launching attacks on targets inside Iran, including Tehran, causing infrastructure damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran subsequently launched retaliatory strikes against targets in Israel and U.S. military facilities in the Middle East.
