Adam Kaplan, the Deputy Inspector General of the U.S. Agency for International Development, stated that auditors found irregularities in the accounting of up to $26 billion in aid funds to Ukraine.

According to him, the contractors responsible for distributing the funds either failed to submit reports on time or did not submit them at all.

Kaplan pointed out that the U.S. government had previously sent auditors to eight countries, including Ukraine, to monitor the use of aid funds. He added that investigators have begun investigating fraud and corruption cases related to non-military aid in Kyiv.

Previously, Trump had stated that it was necessary to thoroughly investigate the use of aid funds provided to Kyiv during the Biden administration, involving about $350 billion to $400 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
