Han media: Huawei regains first place in the Chinese smartphone market!

On August 8, the South Korean media outlet "Today's Finance" published an article stating that according to a report from market research firm Counterpoint Research, the sales of smartphones in China in the second quarter saw a slight year-on-year increase, with Huawei and Apple leading the growth, and Huawei reclaiming the top position in the Chinese smartphone market.

According to preliminary data from Counterpoint's recently released "China Smartphone Weekly Sales Tracking Report," smartphone sales in China in the second quarter saw a slight increase, led by Huawei and Apple. However, despite the sales growth, the market outlook is not optimistic.

This is because sales during the 618 shopping festival stagnated, indicating that consumer sentiment remains weak. In fact, most of the sales growth was concentrated in May, and the sales performance during the 618 shopping festival was basically comparable to the same period last year.

Under the weakening consumer confidence, the market rebounded, driven by the strong performances of Huawei and Apple.

Among them, Huawei had the highest growth among all brands, regaining the top position in the Chinese smartphone market; Apple achieved remarkable sales results by vigorously promoting the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.

Both brands achieved good results through promotions. Huawei saw a significant increase in sales during the promotion period, while Apple also pushed three iPhone models into the top of the smartphone sales chart in May through aggressive promotions.

Counterpoint Research stated, "Although the second quarter performance was stable due to subsidy support policies, this program may be reduced in the second half of the year."
