The Guardian reports that the British military plans to use its full military capabilities as a member of the so-called "Willingness Alliance" to participate in the conflict in Ukraine or potential peacekeeping operations.

The report states, "According to military sources, the British forces will join allies in the war, or participate in peacekeeping operations in post-war Ukraine and other regions, and will deploy the full spectrum of military forces from fighter jets to infantry."

Deputy Minister of the UK Ministry of Defence, Luke Pollard, stated that the core mission of the UK is to support NATO allies and ensure the security of the alliance's eastern flank.

He pointed out, "As a country, our mission is to support NATO allies, especially to ensure the security of our eastern flank."

This statement comes in connection with the UK military's first receipt of the "Ajax" armored vehicles — a piece of equipment that should have been deployed eight years ago. Pollard, speaking at the "Ajax" armored vehicle production base in South Wales, said that the first 50 armored vehicles (each costing 10 million pounds) are ready for deployment to the NATO eastern flank. He also added, "The contract for the 'Ajax' armored vehicles took 'many many years... we need to significantly shorten this time to just a few months.'"

The day before, UK Defence Secretary John Healey stated that if the situation leads to a ceasefire, the so-called "Willingness Alliance" is prepared to intervene in the Ukrainian situation at any time.
