The conflict between India and Pakistan has temporarily subsided, but the intense diplomatic confrontation between the two countries is still ongoing. According to reports from both sides' media, the Indian government launched a global diplomatic offensive around the "Sindhu Action" last week on the 21st, successively dispatching more than fifty members of seven bipartisan delegations to conduct persuasion speeches in over thirty countries as well as the EU and the UN headquarters, attempting to promote the narrative of "India defeating Pakistan" to the world.

Indian media claimed that this move aims to inform various countries about the situation of the "Sindhu Action", expose Pakistan's actions in so-called "promoting terrorism", and avoid being misled by the UN Security Council. However, this self-deceptive rhetoric cannot hide the embarrassment behind the "Victory Propaganda Team" of India encountering reduced reception specifications and public opinion skepticism in many countries.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is also synchronously building a high-level delegation, planning to carry out similar actions in multiple countries such as the US and Europe. The struggle for international discourse power between the two sides has fully escalated. This smokeless diplomatic contest is becoming a new focus of the India-Pakistan game.

India's 150-page document, Japan's Foreign Minister only listened for "15 minutes".

According to Indian media reports, each propaganda team of the Indian side carries materials with up to 150 pages to "expose Pakistan's terrorist acts" to various countries.

However, this "brick-thick" document only opened the door to Japan's Foreign Minister Yachi for "fifteen minutes".

According to an X post from the Indian Embassy in Japan, on May 22 local time, the third propaganda team led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, a member of parliament and former cabinet minister of the Bihar state government, met briefly with Japan's Foreign Minister Yachi after arriving in Tokyo.

Although Indian media hyped this visit as a demonstration of national will, apart from the Japanese Foreign Ministry website releasing a press release, there was absolutely no Japanese media paying attention to this matter. The Japanese side also pointed out in the press release that this was a "ceremonial meeting", and the duration was only 15 minutes.

On the 22nd local time, Japanese Foreign Minister Yachi received the Indian delegation. Japanese Foreign Ministry website.

The next day in Japan, it was all about "quantity and satisfaction".

According to information released by the Indian Embassy, the Indian side successively held "wheel-meeting-style" meetings with Japanese House Speaker Etsuro Hakubara, former Justice Minister Yutaka Hayashi, former Economy, Trade and Industry Minister and Chairman of the Japan-India Parliamentary Friendship League Yasunori Nishimura, former Defense Minister Kimiharu Mura and former Reconstruction Minister Toshiko Tsuchiya, among others.

Similarly, the aforementioned Japanese personnel also rarely publicly mentioned their exchanges with the Indian side, and there were no media reports either.

Kimiharu Mura did post photos of his meeting with the Indian side on X, but he only stated that Japan condemns all forms of terrorism and calls for both India and Pakistan to resolve issues through dialogue to maintain peace and stability in South Asia.

He also did not comply with the wishes of the Indian side, completely blaming Pakistan for the current India-Pakistan conflict. The news report link attached to his post objectively described the trigger for the current India-Pakistan conflict as the terrorist attack incident that occurred in the Indian-controlled Kashmir region on April 22, and also mentioned that despite Pakistan's rebuttal of the "supporting terrorism" claim, India still launched the "Sindhu Action", leading to the escalation of the conflict.

Subsequently, the Indian propaganda team also held multiple meetings with representatives of foreign embassies in Japan, major Japanese media and think tanks, and Indian expatriate groups in Japan.

Even Shinzo Abe, who was often mocked as the "Tokyo Olympics limited-term prime minister" due to his short term, met with the Indian side because of his position as the chairman of the Japan-India Association.

Similarly, the latest publicly available information on the institution's official website did not mention this at all, and even did not issue any press releases.

Indian Embassy's X

On the night before departure (the 23rd), the propaganda team held a "special dinner" at the Indian Embassy. They claimed that "many important figures in Japanese politics, government, and academia" attended specially to listen to the so-called "victory speech" of the Indian side.

However, from the photos publicly released by the embassy, this statement was "exaggerated" to say the least.

The "self-indulgent" atmosphere in India's frequent releases of "victory bulletins" made some bystanders feel uncomfortable.

A netizen left a comment under the Indian Embassy's social account: "There is not a single Japanese responder in the comments section, and no one has responded to these posts."

But this did not stop the Indian propaganda team from taking two group photos at the entrance of Narita Airport in Japan, proudly announcing the successful completion of the publicity work in Japan, and then heading to Seoul as their next stop.

To be honest, they also have quite a bit of "work documentation awareness"...

Arriving in South Korea on the 25th, although the Indian side continued to "bombard" on social media and密集ly update the progress of their promotion in South Korea, it was obvious that the reception level here was lower than in Japan.

In addition to repeating the same tactic of inviting representatives from Korean media, think tanks, and ethnic Indian communities in Korea for meetings, the Indian delegation basically did not meet with many influential Korean government representatives.

Sanjay Jha, the leader of the propaganda team, was almost at a loss for words, vaguely mentioning that they had met with "key Korean dignitaries". Among them, the most prominent figure was only Kim Hong-gyun, the first vice-minister of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the rest were mostly unknown South Korean lawmakers.

Even the Indian side admitted that they only had a "brief conversation" with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yong during their meeting with Kim Hong-gyun on the 26th.

According to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cho Tae-yong only gave a brief greeting to the Indian side before their meeting. The South Korean statement only mentioned that South Korea will continue to cooperate with the international community to combat terrorism and welcome the peace efforts of India and Pakistan, without echoing the narrative of the Indian side.

After staying in South Korea for two days, today (the 27th), the third propaganda team is already in Singapore, starting the sixth day of diplomatic promotion activities. On that day, the Indian side held a meeting with Senior Minister of State for National Development and Foreign Affairs Ong Ye Kung.

While in New York, an old video of him criticizing Trump suddenly went viral on social media.

According to Indian media reports, the fifth propaganda team led by the former Indian diplomat and current chairman of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee Shashi Tharoor (Shashi Tharoor) encountered a more embarrassing situation - when he arrived in New York, an old video of him mocking Trump last year suddenly resurfaced and went viral on social media.

It was reported that the fifth propaganda team was responsible for promoting to countries such as the United States, Panama, Guyana, Brazil, and Colombia in the Americas. The team's first stop was Guyana, and during their short stay in New York, they visited the "9/11" Terrorist Attack National Memorial and attempted to win American support by appealing to "terrorist empathy".

It was reported that the propaganda team laid flowers at the site of the victims of the "9/11 terrorist attacks" to express condolences, thereby expressing their support for victims of global terrorism.

Although the United States was the final destination of the fifth propaganda team, and New York was only a short stopover, Tharoor still tried to hype up the team's activities in New York.

At an event at the Indian Consulate General in New York, he emphasized, "We went to the memorial to convey a message - we share the same experience as New York 20 years ago. We hope people understand that solidarity and cooperation are crucial. We need to show the world the same firm determination as the United States: we oppose all terrorist attacks and will take action...”

Tharoor speaking at the Indian Consulate General in New York.

What Tharoor didn't expect was that this speech quickly shifted attention to his mockery of Trump.

According to reports by Indian media outlets like India Today, a video that went viral when the propaganda team set out showed Tharoor mockingly commenting that although he "shouldn't comment on foreign political leaders on foreign soil," personally, Trump didn't leave the impression of being pleasant or approachable as people might expect from an outstanding American political figure.

Comprehensive Indian media reports indicate that Tharoor has nearly 30 years of diplomatic experience at the United Nations, with his highest position being Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information. After returning to India in 2009 to embark on a political career, he served as India's Minister of State for External Affairs (equivalent to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs).

In the video, this seasoned Indian diplomat said that he had met with four or five U.S. presidents from both parties, who possessed "a certain political weight, the dignity and wisdom of a statesman," but he regretfully found that Trump seemed to lack these traits severely.

Before setting off, Tharoor expressed dissatisfaction with Trump, who had become President of the United States, rejecting his claim that he had mediated the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, emphasizing that "no formal mediation request had been made or initiated."

According to Indian media reports, on Friday (the 23rd), Tharoor told the Times of India, "During any crisis, we always maintain contact with countries that proactively call us, which has been our consistent practice. There is currently neither a formal mediation request nor any initiation of mediation procedures."

He continued to criticize, "You call me, I'll tell you what I'm doing and why, that's all. If you subsequently pass on this information to others and cause certain consequences, does that count as mediation? At least in my understanding, it doesn't."

However, even with all this commotion, American media and politicians remained indifferent, not even giving him a glance. Some Indian netizens expressed dissatisfaction, accusing "Western media's disregard for the propaganda team is despicable."

According to a report by India Today on the 27th, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar clarified again at a parliamentary meeting that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was the direct result of military-level contacts between the two sides, unrelated to foreign mediation.

Indian media reported that prior to this, Trump had at least five times claimed that he himself had facilitated the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. But on that day, Jaishankar reiterated that the ceasefire was the result of talks at the director-general level of the Pakistani military operations bureau, initiated through military channels by the Pakistani side.

Pakistan also formed a propaganda team to "counterattack" India

While India was carrying out large-scale diplomatic actions, Pakistan was equally determined not to fall behind. According to a report by Pakistan's Dawn newspaper on the 26th, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif sent a "Peace Initiative" delegation led by former Foreign Minister and People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to explain Pakistan's position in the current India-Pakistan conflict on the global stage.

It was reported that a high-level delegation from Pakistan would arrive in New York, USA on June 1st, and the members might include Musadik Malik, who recently transferred from Petroleum Minister to Climate Minister, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, and former Ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani, among others.

It was reported that due to possible additions of two destinations - Europe and North America including Canada - Pakistan may eventually send two delegations, and the final list of members is still being finalized.

It is expected that the Pakistani delegation will stay in the United States until June 6th. Pakistan claimed that they are trying to arrange a meeting with US Secretary of State Rubio. During this period, they also plan to meet with UN Secretary-General Guterres and the current president of the UN General Assembly Philémon Yang, and give a speech at the Permanent Representative Meeting of the United Nations.

Pakistani media reported that before departing, Bilawal briefed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stated that the delegation would visit multiple countries globally to counteract India's propaganda on the escalation of the India-Pakistan conflict and the gun attack incident in Parachinar targeting tourists, emphasizing Pakistan's sincere efforts for regional peace and stability.

Bilawal stated that India and Pakistan have three main points of contention: Kashmir, terrorism, and water resource distribution. Both sides need to engage in dialogue to find ways to eliminate terrorism. Furthermore, India's "weaponization" of water resources further undermines the foundation of peace, and Pakistan needs to inform the world about this issue.

An editorial in Dawn newspaper believed that India has long incited separatist forces against Pakistan, funded and trained terrorist organizations. In response to these actions, Pakistan should gather more evidence and inform the world.
