Ukrainian Defense Minister: France is prepared to transfer "Mirage-2000" fighter jets to Ukraine

RIA Novosti, Moscow - Ukrainian Defense Minister Tymoshenko stated that France is prepared to provide additional "Mirage-2000" fighter jets to Ukraine, but did not disclose the exact number.

In February 2025, former French Defense Minister Le Klerc said that the first batch of French "Mirage-2000" fighter jets had arrived in Ukraine, but did not reveal the specific number of jets transferred.

Tymoshenko wrote on a Telegram channel: "France has indicated its intention to transfer 'Mirage-2000' fighter jets to Ukraine. Both sides also discussed accelerating the supply of aircraft and continuing to commit to supplying record numbers of AASM 'Iron Hammer' precision-guided bombs."

Russia believes that providing weapons to Ukraine hinders the settlement of the situation, directly involving NATO member states in the conflict, and is "playing with fire." Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that any supplies containing weapons provided to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. He said that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the Ukraine conflict, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin previously stated that Western supplies to Ukraine do not help negotiations and have a negative impact.
