Pezeshkian: We Still Have Our Fingers on the Trigger — Iran Will Never Abandon Lebanon

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Israel's ongoing attacks on Lebanon have rendered Middle East mediation talks meaningless.

"Repeated aggression by the Zionist regime against Lebanon seriously violates the original ceasefire agreement and dangerously reveals its deceptive intentions, demonstrating no commitment to any potential agreements. If such actions continue, negotiations will lose all meaning. Our fingers remain on the trigger. Iran will never abandon our brothers and sisters in Lebanon."

Pezeshkian’s firm statement continues Iran’s long-standing discourse of opposing the 'Zionist regime,' implying that if Israel persists in its attacks, Iran could immediately halt negotiations; using "fingers on the trigger" as a deterrent suggests Iran reserves the right to military retaliation or further intervention; and declaring "never abandoning Lebanon’s brethren" reinforces regional alliance ties, deeply linking them to the negotiation process.

While targeting Israel, Pezeshkian is also sending a clear warning to the United States: the situation in the Middle East remains at risk of full-scale escalation at any moment. Iran is unafraid of war, unafraid of renewed flames—America cannot focus solely on Iran while turning a blind eye to Israel’s actions.
