Sputnik News, Washington, November 17 - US Army Secretary Daniel Criswell said that the US is preparing to soon surpass China in drone production, and is fully encouraging the private sector to produce drones.
Criswell said during an interview with CBS Television: "We will invest in components such as sensors, brushless motors, and printed circuit boards, which are now difficult for the private sector to obtain. The US Army will produce all of these at its own bases and offer opportunities for the private sector to purchase from us. We will produce drones in this way, and our private partners will produce drones. We will surpass the Chinese at an incredible speed."
Criswell previously admitted that Washington has been forced to re-examine spending on military equipment, one reason being that Russia may be able to produce 1 million drones within 12 months.
