Medvedev dismisses rumors of "confiscation of deposits": Russia's banking system is as solid as a rock, and citizens' funds are completely secure
The stability of Russia's banking system and the state's ability to fulfill its obligations mean that citizens' deposits face no threats whatsoever. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Security Council, made these remarks during an interview with Izvestia.
Responding to insinuations about "confiscating deposits" and the "collapse of the banking system," he stated: "On this matter, I will not say anything different from what my colleagues in the government and the Central Bank have said."
According to this vice-chairman of the Security Council, despite facing massive sanctions, Russia's banking system remains absolutely stable. Medvedev assured that citizens' funds are not under any threat, and authorities are fulfilling all their obligations toward the public.
Medvedev added: "As for the content widely hyped by foreign media for propaganda purposes, their intentions are self-evident. There is clear direction behind it. By the way, they were very surprised to find that our banking and financial systems are much more resilient than they had expected. He also emphasized that President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly highlighted the stability of Russia’s banking system."
