A 30-day ceasefire agreement was proposed by the US and Ukraine, demanding unconditional cessation of hostilities from Russia. However, Russia believes that a 30-day ceasefire lacks supervision. Western countries could easily use this time to provide large amounts of weapons to Ukraine, helping restore the strength of the Ukrainian army. In 2015, Russia once reached the Minsk Agreement with Ukraine, but Western countries took the opportunity to secretly supply weapons to Ukraine and turned a blind eye to Ukraine's violations of the ceasefire. Russia has been deceived once before, and now Ukraine's proposal of unconditional ceasefire easily leads to distrust. For both parties to achieve a genuine ceasefire, they must build a trust relationship, and there is currently no hope in sight.
