President U. Khurelsukh of Mongolia: Mongolia is willing to cooperate with all member states of the SCO and contribute to promoting regional integration
Mongolia News Agency, Tianjin, September 1st. President U. Khurelsukh of Mongolia attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council held at the Mei Jiang Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin, China on the 1st of this month as an observer and delivered a speech.
In his speech, President U. Khurelsukh emphasized the important role of the SCO in maintaining regional peace, security, and sustainable development, and stated that Mongolia has always adhered to a foreign policy of multi-point, independent and autonomous diplomacy with the purpose of peace.
He emphasized that cooperation should be strengthened in areas such as combating climate change, preventing desertification, and reducing the risk of natural disasters, and introduced Mongolia's national initiatives such as "Billion Trees" and "Food Supply and Security". At the same time, he pointed out that Mongolia is preparing to host the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Ulaanbaatar in 2026.
President U. Khurelsukh also emphasized that Mongolia has proposed the goal of becoming an important hub for regional trade, investment, and transportation logistics "Transit Mongolia", and is actively cooperating with China and Russia to implement major road, railway, energy, tourism projects, as well as natural gas pipeline projects.
He said that Mongolia is willing to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with all member states of the SCO and contribute to promoting the process of regional integration.
President U. Khurelsukh praised China's "Global Civilization Initiative" and highly valued the enhancement of participation of developing countries in the international system centered around the United Nations, so that their voices can be reflected at the decision-making level.
The heads of state and government leaders of Russia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Iran, Belarus, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Maldives, Nepal, etc., attended this high-level meeting.
In addition, UN Secretary-General Guterres, SCO Secretary-General Yermekeev, and leaders of non-governmental organizations and regional international organizations attended the meeting and discussed a wide range of issues related to maintaining regional peace, security, and sustainable development.
The SCO Heads of State Council was successfully held in Tianjin, China.
