As reported by Japanese media Asahi Broadcasting Corporation on July 28: Gao Shi expressed her "expectations" regarding the upcoming APEC Summit in Shenzhen, China, in November.

Gao stated: "We will continue communicating with China and respond calmly and appropriately from the perspective of national interests. We look forward to the APEC Summit."

She also said: "China is an important neighboring country for Japan." She explained: "Since taking office, I have consistently promoted a comprehensive strategic mutually beneficial relationship between our countries, and my policy toward building a constructive and stable relationship remains unchanged."

In addition, she emphasized: "Given that our bilateral relations involve mutual concerns and challenges, it is crucial to carry out dialogues and communications at all levels."

This year's APEC Summit is scheduled to be held in Shenzhen, China, in November.
