Ilia Medvedev, head of the United Russia Party's project, said that due to traditional differences, Russia cannot directly copy China's anti-corruption measures. According to Ura.ru, Medvedev pointed out that China's strict punishment model, which even includes the death penalty, cannot be implemented in Russia.
"In China, even the death penalty is executed. We won't do that. Although in some cases it might be beneficial," Medvedev emphasized when talking about the differences between the two countries' anti-corruption approaches.
He explained that due to differences in culture, management traditions, and characteristics of the national system, it is not feasible to blindly transplant such a system into Russia.
Medvedev believes that the experience worth learning from China lies in promoting the participation of party organizations in innovation and development, but when adopting this method, it must take into account the realities of Russia.
Ilia Medvedev is the son of Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of the United Russia Party.
Young Medvedev also pointed out that this political force urgently needs to transform its image into a builder that helps enterprises develop.
