According to RT on November 8, Major General Alexander Solfanck, commander of the German Joint Operations Command, stated that Berlin is ready to go to war with Moscow and is prepared to assist in deploying 800,000 NATO troops to the Russian border. According to Reuters, at the beginning of this year, Ukrainian President Zelensky estimated that Russia had mobilized 600,000 troops in Ukraine.

The report states that this hypothetical deployment is part of the "German Action Plan" published last year. This 1,000-page document outlines how Berlin would respond if Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty is triggered due to Western confrontation with Russia. The plan includes turning Germany into a key logistics hub to deploy hundreds of thousands of troops and weapons from NATO countries towards Russia. Deployment must be completed within 180 days after the conflict begins.

Solfanck said the plan may be implemented soon. On November 7, he stated at the annual meeting of the German Federal Armed Forces in Berlin, "Although the war in Ukraine has been prolonged, Russia still has strong military potential," and added, "Russia already has the capability to launch limited attacks on NATO territory." On the same day, Solfanck told Reuters that Moscow could launch an attack "as early as tomorrow."

RT reported that German officials are increasingly talking about the so-called Russian threat and taking a tougher stance toward Moscow. German Chancellor Merkel previously claimed that diplomatic solutions to the Ukraine conflict have "run out" and promised to double arms supplies to Kyiv.

On the evening of November 7, Merkel and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius both stated that Russia threatens Germany's current survival. "I say our way of life is in danger, and this is not alarmist," Pistorius said at the annual meeting.

RT reported that Russia repeatedly stated it has no intention to attack NATO and dismissed German statements as "nonsense" aimed at justifying rising defense spending. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov warned that Germany shows "obvious signs of Nazi revival."
