According to India Today, after assuming office, Vietnam's President To Lam is expected to visit India in the near future and may sign a "BrahMos" missile agreement with Indian officials. The proposed package includes land-based BrahMos missile systems for coastal defense, along with associated training, logistics support, and the delivery of the first batch of missiles, valued at approximately 58 billion Indian rupees (around 700 million USD). If finalized, this deal would make Vietnam the third Southeast Asian nation to deploy the supersonic cruise missile jointly developed by India and Russia, and also mark one of Vietnam's largest defense procurement projects in recent years—highlighting its efforts to enhance its maritime deterrence capabilities in the South China Sea.
