Trump Announces Additional Trade Tariffs on Canada

US President Donald Trump announced that the US will impose an additional 10% trade tariff on Canada, based on existing measures, due to Canada's so-called false publicity regarding former President Ronald Reagan's remarks on tariffs. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Trump demanded the removal of the relevant advertisements and emphasized that their broadcast constitutes fraud.

"Given that they have seriously distorted the facts and taken hostile actions, I will impose an additional 10% tariff on Canada, which will be implemented on top of the existing rates," he formally announced.

Previously, Trump pointed out that Canada engaged in fraudulent publicity on the tariff issue through false advertisements. Ontario launched a $75 million advertisement in October, which included a clip of Reagan's 1987 speech on tariffs. In his speech, the former president emphasized that tariffs are ineffective in the long run.
