Russian Ambassador to China: Russia-China Trade Volume Will Far Exceed $200 Billion in 2025
Sputnik News, Beijing, December 23 - Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgorov said on the 23rd that the trade volume between Russia and China in 2025 will far exceed $200 billion.
Morgorov told students and teachers at a lecture held by the University of People's Republic of China, "Due to a series of market reasons, natural changes are taking place, and the trade volume has slightly decreased, but it will again far exceed the $200 billion threshold set by the leaders of the two countries this year."
He pointed out that over the past 15 years, China has been Russia's main trading partner, while Russia ranks fifth among China's trading partners.
Morgorov added, "According to analysts' estimates, the trade volume (trade volume - editor's note) between the two countries will reach slightly more than $220 billion by the end of the year."
Data from the General Administration of Customs of China showed that in the first 11 months of 2025, the trade volume between Russia and China fell by 8.7% to $203.675 billion. In 2024, the trade volume between Russia and China increased by 1.9% to $244.819 billion.
