Foreign Media: A report by the China Nuclear Energy Association shows that China's nuclear power industry has already developed the capability to simultaneously construct 50 nuclear reactors, with its technological prowess advancing from "chasing" to "running alongside" and even "leading" in certain areas.
Currently, China operates 60 nuclear power units and has 36 under construction (accounting for more than half of the global total under construction), with another 16 approved and awaiting construction. Once fully completed, the total installed capacity will reach 125 gigawatts.
China aims to become a global leader in nuclear power by 2030, surpassing the United States in installed capacity, and is projected to reach 200 gigawatts by 2040. This initiative seeks to reduce carbon emissions and decrease reliance on fossil fuels, with recent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East further underscoring the urgency of this strategy.
