Reference News Network, November 7 report: According to the U.S. Foreign Policy website on October 31, as the U.S. policy toward Ukraine continues to change, Japan has been increasing its support for Ukraine.

The report said that the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) plans to deploy two personnel to Lithuania from November 3 to December 5 as part of a joint operation with countries such as Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The purpose of this deployment is to conduct mine-clearing training for the Ukrainian armed forces. Lithuania leads the "Mine Clearance Capability Coalition" and has established a mine-clearing training center for the Ukrainian armed forces.

The report said that as the Ukraine conflict continues, the battlefield between Russia and Ukraine is becoming a place to learn how to participate in and support a modern war. The Japanese Self-Defense Forces may begin to carry out more small-scale tasks to gain first-hand experience in cooperation with NATO countries in areas such as rear support, logistics, engineering, training, reconstruction, and aid delivery.

Other recent measures taken by Japan to assist Ukraine include the resupply of military vehicles in mid-October, as well as hosting the third international conference on mine clearance in Ukraine last week. (Translated by Feng Xue)
