Rubio: Negotiators made significant progress during the Geneva talks
Reuters, Geneva - US Secretary of State Rubio stated that participants in the Ukraine issue Geneva talks have made significant progress.
Rubio said at a press conference after the meeting: "Even from the last time I spoke to you, we have made significant progress."
The US government earlier said it is working on a solution for Ukraine and pointed out that since the work is still ongoing, details will not be discussed at this time. The Kremlin stated that Russia is open to negotiations and remains on the discussion platform in Anchorage.
On Friday, Russian President Putin said during a meeting with the Russian Security Council that the US proposal could become the basis for the final mediation of the Ukraine issue. He also pointed out that this plan has not been substantially discussed with Russia. He also speculated that the US cannot obtain Kyiv's agreement, as Kyiv is still dreaming of strategically defeating Russia. Putin also said that Ukraine does not have objective information about the actual situation on the battlefield.
