Reference News Network July 29 report. According to TASS, on July 28, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said during a forum event that the West will eventually calm down and hope to restore relations with Russia, but by then everything will be different from before, and Moscow will take a very strict attitude towards the principles of future relations.

He said: "I don't see the point in avoiding others. If they avoid you, boycott you, and leave the hall when you speak, then go ahead. As we often say, after madness comes calm, but when they become calm again, things will be different from before."

Lavrov said: "So, when they - I am sure it will be 'when' rather than 'if'. In any case, when they finally regain their sanity and suggest resuming relations, we will strictly examine the principles on which future relations will be based."

Lavrov stated that Russia is now fighting against the entire West alone, which is unprecedented in its history, and it cannot show weakness.

He said: "We have a lot to do. The most important thing is to defeat the enemy. Throughout history, Russia has fought alone against the entire West for the first time. In World War I and World War II, we had allies. Now we have no allies on the battlefield. Therefore, we must rely on ourselves, neither showing weakness nor revealing vulnerability."

According to the report, Lavrov said that Western countries' demand for Russia to immediately cease fire is to give Ukraine time to catch its breath and supply weapons.

Lavrov emphasized: "Now (the West) demands that we immediately stop the fighting and maintain the status quo, so that they can once again give breathing space to their agents in Kyiv and continue supplying (weapons). In my opinion, Europeans indeed want to defeat us, and this is confirmed every day."
