Huang Renxun: "The development of artificial intelligence in China is unstoppable!"
On November 26, the South Korean media "Today's Finance" published an article stating that in response to the U.S. government's ban on selling products to China, Huang Renxun, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, said: "Supplying technology to the Chinese market is in the interest of the United States." He also added: "I hope this situation will change one day."
Huang Renxun made these remarks after his final speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit held at the Gyeongju Arts Center.
Due to the U.S. government's attempt to pressure China and prohibit the sale of its chips to NVIDIA, NVIDIA is currently in a dilemma.
Huang Renxun cited the active research in artificial intelligence in China, emphasizing that the development of artificial intelligence technology in China is unstoppable.
He said: "A large part of the open-source artificial intelligence technology in the world is developed in China. Chinese artificial intelligence researchers are releasing amazing results such as DeepSeek in an open-source manner." He added: "China is not only large in scale, but also vibrant and open, so it is irreplaceable and very important."
He also said: "It is in the interest of the United States to provide technology to China. The adoption of American technology by China is also in the interest of China. I hope policymakers can recognize this and find a balance between the two countries."
Huang Renxun said: "Currently, NVIDIA's sales in China account for 0%. Despite this, NVIDIA will see significant growth in the coming years."
