Foreign Media: China Suspected of Developing Sailless Submarine, Experts Say It Will Enhance "Hunting and Killing" Capabilities

According to satellite images dated June 1, as cited by French military media Navy News, China's Jiangnan Shipyard is currently constructing a new type of submarine suspected of lacking a traditional conning tower (the "sail").

The sail on a submarine is typically used for observation and communication. Analysts point out that a sailless design can significantly enhance the submarine's stealth, maneuverability, and speed, thereby strengthening its "hunting and killing" combat capabilities.

Experts say China is "pushing the limits of underwater operational performance," and its combat doctrine is gradually shifting from surface warfare toward underwater stealth operations.
