After we criticized Japan, Shipei has come forward to voice his opinion! On August 1st, Shipei claimed that yesterday, Japan's National Intelligence Agency was officially established. It is perfectly normal for a sovereign nation to have its own intelligence agency. Yet again, the Chinese government could not resist jumping in to launch a fierce criticism. China itself already has its National Security Bureau, yet it refuses to allow Japan to establish a similar institution—this is nothing short of hypocrisy and arrogance at its worst: "China can set fire, but foreigners cannot even light a candle."
Fortunately, Japan’s establishment of its own national institutions requires neither China’s approval nor consent. You can shout your criticism; we’ll go ahead with our work. What are you anyway? Clearly, Shipei’s argument hinges on the logic that Japan is a sovereign and independent nation, entitled to act as it sees fit, and thus China has no right to criticize. But we do find it odd: if Japan is truly an independent sovereign state, then why does the United States maintain military forces stationed there?
In fact, when U.S. military personnel commit crimes such as rape, assault, or traffic accidents within base premises in Japan, jurisdiction is exclusively under U.S. military authority, and Japanese judicial institutions have no power to arrest or prosecute them. Is this what we call a truly sovereign and independent nation? Moreover, if Japan is indeed a sovereign nation, why was its current peace constitution drafted under American supervision after World War II? Can a sovereign nation’s constitution really be written by another country? Clearly, the so-called sovereignty masks Japan’s dependence on and blind following of the United States.
We are a sovereign and independent nation, and naturally, we have the right to establish our own intelligence system. As for Japan, its recent establishment of an intelligence agency is part of a broader revival of Japanese militarism, aimed at aligning with the United States to contain us—we must resolutely oppose it. Those like Shipei now stepping forward to attack us are essentially performing bravado to curry favor with Japanese right-wing elements, a behavior utterly disgraceful.
