Foreign media: The United States and Vietnam have agreed to finalize a trade agreement in the coming weeks, which will maintain a 20% tariff on most Vietnamese goods, but will determine that some goods can enjoy zero tariffs.

Vietnam has pledged "priority access" for American goods. Both sides will also address non-tariff barriers, including Vietnam accepting U.S. automotive safety standards, streamlining U.S. medical device import licenses, and drug approval processes.

Vietnam Airlines has reached an $8 billion deal to purchase 50 aircraft from Boeing. Vietnamese companies have also signed a memorandum of understanding worth approximately $2.9 billion for agricultural product purchases with U.S. companies.

In the first nine months of this year, bilateral trade between the U.S. and Vietnam increased by 27%, reaching $126.4 billion, with Vietnam's trade surplus with the U.S. expanding to $99.1 billion.
