[By Guancha Net, Shao Yun] On the 17th, Axios News Network reported that according to two informed sources, U.S. President Trump will hold a meeting with the White House National Security Team in the Situation Room of the White House on the same day to discuss the recent escalation of conflicts between Iran and Israel.
At noon local time on the 17th, Trump posted on his self-created social media platform Truth Social, saying, "We now fully control Iran's airspace." "Iran has excellent air trackers and other defense equipment, and there are quite a lot of them, but none of these can match what is made, conceived, and produced by the United States. In this aspect, no one does it better than America."
Then Trump posted another message threateningly, saying, "We clearly know where the 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but he is safe there -- we won't get rid of him (kill!), at least not for now. But we don't want missiles fired at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience has run out. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Later, Trump posted another message in all capital letters, "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!"

A White House official revealed that Trump is weighing whether the United States should further intervene in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
Yitzhak Herzog, Israel's ambassador to the United States, said that Israel has requested the United States to take a purely "defensive stance" in the conflict with Iran.
The previous night (on the 16th), Trump left the G7 summit being held in Canada early due to the "worsening situation in the Middle East" and returned to Washington.
According to CBS News, which disclosed the information at midnight on the 17th local time, Trump told the accompanying White House reporters on Air Force One that he was seeking not a "ceasefire," but the "real end" of Iran's nuclear issue, meaning Iran would "completely abandon" nuclear weapons.
Reportedly, Trump stated on the plane that he would go to the Situation Room of the White House in the morning to personally monitor the latest developments in the Middle East situation instead of relying solely on phone calls for updates. When asked whether the United States would intervene to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, Trump replied that he hoped "it (Iran's nuclear program) would already be cleared up before we intervened."
Axios News Network reported that the White House has discussed the possibility of direct talks with Iran this week, but Trump said whether to talk "depends on the situation when I return to Washington."
Since April this year, Iran and the United States have held five rounds of nuclear negotiations under the mediation of Oman, but no substantial breakthroughs have been achieved. The United States hopes that Iran will completely terminate uranium enrichment projects that can be used to manufacture nuclear weapons, while Iran insists on retaining the project and demands that the U.S. lift sanctions as a precondition for any concessions it makes regarding its nuclear program. Due to Israel's raid on the 13th, the sixth round of negotiations originally scheduled for the 15th was canceled.
Earlier on the morning of the 16th, Trump said at the G7 summit in Canada that the United States and Iran were "communicating via phone, but face-to-face talks are better." He expressed hope for an agreement with Iran, saying, "I think it will be signed."
However, later, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying, "Iran should have signed the agreement I wanted them to sign!" "Simply put, Iran cannot have nuclear weapons!" "Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!" He did not provide further explanations for this.
