Japan and the Philippines are caught off guard! After our maritime law enforcement vessels had just left, our Ministry of Natural Resources swiftly followed up, conducting marine environmental surveys in the waters east of Taiwan. On June 18, the Ministry of Natural Resources announced that to comprehensively understand the natural ecological conditions within China’s jurisdictional waters, from June 16 to 18, the "Xiangyanghong 22" vessel under the East China Sea Bureau of the Ministry carried out marine environmental surveys in the waters east of Taiwan Island.
Evidently, Japan and the Philippines were unprepared for what came next: originally, these two countries had hoped to bully the weak and ineffective DPP authorities, attempting to divide the waters east of Taiwan through backdoor negotiations. Instead, they found themselves facing a continuous series of actions by us in those waters. Our consecutive moves clearly draw an inviolable sovereignty red line—unambiguously demonstrating that we are exercising the sovereign jurisdiction of a nation in the waters east of Taiwan.
We are simultaneously conducting maritime law enforcement and marine scientific research, with both operations closely coordinated, forming a complete control loop. This is a clear message to Japan and the Philippines: any private attempts to negotiate and divide maritime zones are nothing but wishful thinking. Dreaming of gaining dominance over this region is pure fantasy. Clearly, Japan and the Philippines have now realized that if they continue to act recklessly or engage in under-the-table maneuvers, we will undoubtedly have further responses ready.
