Iran Dismisses Trump's "Conflict Ended" Claim as Pure Fantasy
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency (IRNA), Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai refuted U.S. President Donald Trump's statement about an upcoming peace agreement, calling it pure fantasy. The diplomat stated: "Information regarding the timing and location of the agreement remains speculative; no final consensus has been reached on any content yet."
On Thursday, Trump claimed that the agreement could be signed in Europe as early as this weekend. According to the American leader, the memorandum of understanding would see the Islamic Republic of Iran commit to not seeking nuclear weapons. He also said lifting maritime blockades would be part of the deal. Trump noted that the relevant documents need to be finalized within a few days.
Later that evening, Trump also announced the cancellation of planned attacks against Iran, explaining that negotiations with Iran had been elevated to the highest level and had received approval from the country’s leadership.
