Foreign Media: According to data from French shipping data provider Alphaliner, China's Yangtze River Delta region will host two of the world's busiest container ports in the first half of 2026.
In the first half of 2026, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in Zhejiang Province handled 22.9 million standard containers (TEU), surpassing Singapore's 22.74 million TEU, rising to the world's second-largest container port; Shanghai Port maintained its position as the world's largest with 28.7 million TEU. The two Chinese ports are located less than 100 kilometers apart, highlighting the scale advantage of the Yangtze River Delta port system. Currently, six of the world's top ten busiest ports are in China.
Industry insiders believe that China's port competitiveness is primarily driven by intelligent technologies and well-developed logistics infrastructure.
