[Russia's Ambassador to China: Russia and China Jointly Safeguard the Post-War International Order]

On May 29th, Russian Ambassador to China Morгуlov stated at the opening ceremony of the 10th "Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era" conference that both China and Russia jointly oppose the destruction of the international order formed after World War II and the attempts to deviate from the basic principles of the UN Charter.

Morgуlov pointed out, "Our two peoples have accomplished great feats, restoring peace at the cost of tremendous sacrifices. Today, not only do we firmly defend the historical truth of the victory in the anti-fascist war as a universal value for all mankind, but also jointly resist the attempts to undermine the post-war international order and abandon the principles of the UN Charter - this year marks the 80th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter."

He emphasized that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and China is built on a solid foundation of equality, mutual benefit, and respect for each other's core interests. "The highest level of cooperation in our history stems from our shared heroic past and combat comradeship - this year coincides with the 80th anniversary of the defeat of German fascism and Japanese militarism. We are solemnly commemorating this historical moment."

This conference is co-hosted by the Council on Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Since its first edition in 2015, it has become one of the high-level dialogue mechanisms between Russia and China. The 10th conference held in Beijing in 2025 focuses on the 80th anniversary of the victory of World War II and the founding of the United Nations, aiming to deepen collaboration consensus between the two countries in political, economic, security, and other fields.
