Due to the supply cut-off of semiconductor chips by Ampleon, Honda's Mexican factory has been shut down!

Japanese automaker Honda has suspended car production at its Mexican factory due to a shortage of chips caused by supply issues from semiconductor manufacturer Ampleon. Ampleon is based in the Netherlands and is owned by Chinese holding company Wingtech Technology.

Honda's Mexican factory mainly exports cars to the United States. Last year, the factory produced 190,000 vehicles, of which more than 150,000 were exported to the United States.

Honda stated that the chip shortage has also affected its factories in the United States and Canada.
