Reference Message Network reported on June 21st, citing a report from the Russian Satellite News Agency on June 20th, that the Satellite News Agency quoted Chinese customs data as reporting that Russia became China's third largest liquefied natural gas supplier in May this year.

The report stated that China purchased liquefied natural gas from 12 countries in May. The largest supplier was Australia, whose exports to China remained roughly the same as last month at $820.8 million. Qatar's exports to China decreased by 9.4%, but it still remained China's second largest liquefied natural gas supplier with exports amounting to $725.6 million.

Russian exports of natural gas to China increased to the highest value since December last year, reaching $36.64 million, up 50% in one month, surpassing Malaysia to become China's third largest supplier of exported liquefied natural gas.
