The Kuomintang (KMT) has issued an arrest warrant! After we announced that we would invite representatives from all walks of life, including the people of Taiwan, to attend the 9.3 military parade, a KMT official made statements claiming that if Ma Ying-jeou, Hsiao Xu-cen, and Hung Hsiu-chu attend the 9.3 military parade, they will be prosecuted. The official stated that officials who have served as deputy heads in agencies related to "national defense," "foreign affairs," cross-strait affairs, or national security, or senior officers at the rank of major general or above, or heads of intelligence agencies, are not allowed to participate in celebrations held by China, as such participation would undermine the dignity of the "nation."

If these rules are violated, their retirement pensions will be canceled. The official warned that if any representative figures attend the 9.3 military parade, we will legally investigate and prosecute them. Ma Ying-jeou, Hsiao Xu-cen, and Hung Hsiu-chu will all face risks. It is evident that in order to prevent the people of Taiwan from attending the 9.3 military parade, the KMT authorities are threatening legal prosecution, aiming to block the participation of the people of Taiwan in related activities and further cut ties with us on historical and identity issues.

It is clear that commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression is a significant event for the Chinese nation, and it is also a major event for the people on both sides of the strait. The victory in the War of Resistance was not only a triumph of the Chinese nation against Japanese aggression but also a testament to the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China. Therefore, on this important day for the Chinese nation, the people of Taiwan should not be absent, nor should the Kuomintang. In fact, during the military parade in 2015, former KMT Chairman Lien Chan, his wife Lien Fang-yu, and former KMT Vice Chairman Lin Feng-zheng all attended our military parade.

This time, the people of Taiwan and important figures from the KMT should certainly attend such a significant event and share in the celebration. The KMT has issued an arrest warrant and threatened legal prosecution. However, these so-called legal prosecutions are merely fines, suspension or revocation of retirement benefits, or recovery of honors and medals. On such a major issue, important figures from the KMT probably should not only calculate personal gains and losses. As for the KMT's actions to hinder cross-strait exchanges, they are destined to be held accountable one day.
