Foreign Media: BMW bets on its all-electric "New Generation" models, striving to regain growth in the Chinese market

BMW's Chief Financial Officer Walter Mörth said that BMW will restore growth in the Chinese market by its new all-electric series Neue Klasse.

The first model of this series, the iX3 SUV, will be launched in China in the summer of 2026. BMW's sales in the Chinese market dropped by 15.5% in the first half of 2025, but Mörth is confident about the future model lineup.

The battery cost of the new models is 40% to 50% lower than that of existing models, which will help improve the company's profitability. BMW plans to gradually phase out old models by the end of this century and fully launch the Neue Klasse series.
